Lisa Berkman is the Thomas D. Cabot Professor of Public Policy for the Departments of Health and Social Behavior and Epidemiology, at Harvard University's School of Public Health and is Chair of the Department of Health & Social Behaviour.
Her studies on the health benefits of joining groups is ground-breaking and is one of the reasons that Professor Lisa Berkman is regarded among the best in the world on the subject of community effects on health.
